Reuse

Reuse - Furniture

What does 'reuse' mean?

Reuse means using an item again and again. Some items are specifically designed to be reused e.g. rechargeable batteries or real nappies.

However, there are also many items that can be reused by someone else once you have finished with them e.g. clothes, books, furniture and carpets.
Choosing to buy reusable items also helps to reduce waste and protect the environment. Reuse is the second level of the waste hierarchy.

Reusing items is a good thing to do because it:
  • Saves the Earth's natural resources.
  • Saves energy and reduces the risk of climate change.
  • Reduces the need for landfill.
